Soaring

Some things would, always, HIT be unexpectedly, although, they’re usually, one in the same.

For instance, seeing how the free lives were, kept bound, seeing how lives that should be, soaring, getting, shot down, that was, a common theme of Miyazaki’s animated films, through the struggles, the characters, fought for their freedoms. And, in the process of the struggles, the characters would get, stuck in the darkness, wondering, if there’s actually light, before the dawn breaks.

This music video was, the light from my earliest memories. The two police officers, had help free the angel, kept bound, by the cult, but, the child became, used by the government organizations. As the second rescues came, the chance, to soar, coupled with the fear of falling from the heights. Falling, into the lightless pits, came that very first longing for assistance. The angel glowed, the officers’ support and protecting the life, allowing the miracle to happen, and she’d, soared, high, above the skies, where she’s, supposed to be all along.

I can’t help but cried, as I watched to this point. My experiences of being sexually assaulted and kept a prisoner, made me lose hope. Picking apart the pains, finding that expectancy of life back again. I’d, walked down, this long and winding path. And this still didn’t happen to just me, it’s happening, in the lives, of ALL abused children. And yet, how many instances of child abuse are there in the society? It’s, hard to get an estimate.

Hayao Miyazaki was, a victim of childhood abuse also. In his interviews, he’d mentioned how when he was growing up, his parents couldn’t take care of him, and he’d, needed to work hard, tackling all the household chores, and looked after his younger siblings. In his teens, he’d felt, a lot of immense pains inside of him. The cartoon feature, the “Green Snake Lady” became a light in his teenage years. When ever he was reminded of the Green Snake Lady’s beauty, he’d felt, heart wrenched. As a true fan of his, I’d often, found that his female characters, carrying that glow of Virgin Mary. But I wouldn’t know, if it was, this lacking in his life, that’s, formed his characters.

I’d, also, longed for a mother long-term, to lift me away, from the pains, to take me away, from those who hurt me. I only have a mother, and, she’s, not that person. Then, I’d, turned my hopes, toward some unknown hero, who will, take me away, from all of this, hurt, all of this, pain, but, he too, never showed. Until I’d gotten older, and, finally understood, how trauma worked, I was able to, find my own path.

Faith is the light, and light, helps guide us in the darkness. But, it takes, more than just faith, for a fallen angel, to find her/his way up toward heaven. In my long journey to growing up, I was, guided, repeatedly, given the support I’d needed, being, protected (even if I wasn’t, aware). It’s, the common consensus that the whole society comes to, believing, that the children deserve to grow up in safer homes, then, will the children finally, get the completed, protection for their lives. What made the angels soar, isn’t just on faith alone, it’s, also the understanding of the multitude of the possibilities of life, and giving to these children, the kind of support they’re, needing and longing for.

And so, this man’s experiences in his younger years (getting sexually abused by his nanny and her family, having his parents, ignored his cries) had made him a sort of an advocate, against child sexual abuse, and, it usually takes some sort of a traumatic experiences in one’s childhood years, and growing up and out from it, for us, to realize, how FLAWED this world is, and how many changes are needed, for this world, to be a better, a safer place for the younger generations…
