A former competitive gymnast put up with how her coach had, raped her long-term, and exposed him last month; as this new was posted online, the police two days ago, asked the coach to report to the precinct, and handed him over to the district attorney’s offices, and after the district attorney’s offices interrogated him, they’d believed, that he had committed the major crime of RAPE, two evenings ago, they set his bail at $300,000N.T.s, and restricted him from going abroad, gave him house arrest.
So far, two women had come forth in their accusations, and disclosed the identities of other victims; a woman, Yeh yesterday made the accusations from overseas, said that when she was in the elementary years, an older schoolmate had told her what the coach did, but she’d asked her to keep it a secret, so she didn’t tell anybody.
Yeh said, she’d trained under the coach for six years, but she was displeased at how he’d trained them, and what he’d done, after middle school, she’d decided to quit gymnastics. And why did she not help her older schoolmate right the wrong, she said, because she was only ten, and felt too scared too, but now, she was willing to return to Taiwan to testify, so the coach can be brought to justice.
Based off of understanding, the 54-accused coach was a gymnastics competitor himself, and took the teams out and performed well, and was rewarded with an excellence coach award, he is currently teaching in the elementary school level; two days ago, he was accompanied by an attorney, and toward the inquiries of accusations of his bad behaviors, he’d brushed most of the questions off with “I forgot” or “I didn’t do that”, denied the allegations of rape.
The victims had disclosed what had happened to her, on a Facebook private society, “The Disclosure Commons”, she’d cried at how when she was only in kindergarten, and she was trained by her coach, respected and loved him like a father, but, as she got into middle school, he’d often touched her privates or upper body, and she’d been raped, repeatedly, at the coach’s home, in the practice ring, as well as in motels; she’d posted the receipts she’d kept of her reporting, the pregnancy tests she’d taken, photos, and other evidences, and it’d gotten the public’s attention.
The D.A. had originally planned to collect all the evidence, but, as the news came out, they’d, called the coach up immediately; the investigators and the district attorneys told, that the coach had been raping his students from 1996 to 2006, and there were, at least, seven, to eight victims; and although, they’d confiscated his laptop, but most of the rapes and molestations happened in a secret room, plus too much time had passed, the evidences would be hard to collect, that they’d needed more victims to come forth, “if more accused him and testified, then, we will have a bigger chance, of convicting him.”
The investigators went to the school where the coach taught, and in the preliminary interviews, they’d not found any newer cases in recent years. The school stated, that on January 26th, they’d received the notices of accusations told to the Department of Education by the victims, they’d immediately set up a gender equality discussion forum, and terminated the coach’s winter training sessions, to cut off all contacts he had with children, and now, they’re asking him to take a leave of absence, and get investigated.
And so, this is what usually happens, because the victims were so very young, and, they’d been raped or molested by someone who’s in a status of power, that, is why nobody said anything right when it had happened, but, as the women grew older, they’d realized what happened to them wasn’t right, and, they all, stood up for themselves, as well as each other, to prevent more victims from getting raped.
