This won’t be, an ISOLATED case, as cell phone gaming addiction is slowly, becoming the “norm” in the world these days!!! From the Front Page Sections, translated…
A six-year-old young boy, was a heavy cell phone game player, originally he should be speaking in childish talks, but, he’d started relate to his external environment using the terms in the games he’d played, and constantly stayed, “I’ll KILL you” “I’ll BLOW YOUR HEAD OFF”, etc., etc., and although his parents found it to be, “abnormal”, but believed that it wouldn’t do the child any good, to have him see a psychiatrist and get him medicated, a while ago, the young child was displeased at how his grandmother took up the couch napping, he’d smothered her with the quilt, then, with his free hand, he’d, choked his grandmother’s neck, the family finally felt alarmed, and took him to the psychiatrist.
“There are so many reasons behind children’s online gaming addictions.” The MacKay Memorial Hospital’s Youth Psychiatric Department’s Psychiatrist, Dzang stated, with the advances in time, using the high-tech devices became a must in life, but, the high-tech devices are often, used to pass the time, and, normal people know when to quit, but, to those without self-control, or those with socializing difficulties, they’d easily get addicted to the online world, and the side-effects would be similar to the symptoms of drug addicts.
like this??? Photo from online…
Dzang said, the boy was the youngest patient he’d treated, that he was already pre-diagnosed with ADHD, and had difficulties, getting along with other children his age; plus the parents are used to using their smartphones a lot in front of him, the child modeled the behavior, and started playing the cell phones at home, and the parents didn’t put any restrictions on his usage, and as he’d started playing the more violent games, they’d not stopped him from it.
At first, the young child’s grandmother found him to cuss a lot, and started talking only in gaming terms, and she’d suggested the parents take him to get treated, but the parents believed it to be useless, until the young child started behaving violently, then, they’d taken him in. Dzang said, the child already became confused on what’s real and what’s virtual, that they’d needed to work very hard, to treat his behavior, and she’d called out to the parents, that they needed to stop children from using the high-tech devices when necessary, and that when symptoms of addictions start to show, the children need to be hospitalized immediately.
or this, even??? Photo still from online…
and this would be, WAY too O-V-E-R!!!
Dzang said, if a child started avoiding contact, and started playing the online games in her/his room after school, then, the parents should start communicate with the child, to understand the reason behind the child’s behavior, whether it be lacking in school work, or that s/he couldn’t connect with the other students; as the child gets diagnosed as being addicted to online games, no need to worry, don’t start restricting them time, nor should the parents confiscate the devices from their young, because as the children lose their only sole support, they may start exerting irrational behaviors such as self-mutilation.
She’d called out, that the government should do something, that Korea and China are already doing something, that Taiwan should also, view online gaming addiction as something serious too.
And so, these cell phone game addictions should NOT be taken lightly anymore, because of cases like these, and, children are getting addicted at a younger and younger, and still, younger age, because parents got used to using those ELECTRONIC babysitters to quiet their own young, and, everything still STARTS at home.
