An owner of a factory, Lee, in Taichung, two yeas ago hired an Indonesian worker, Linda, and was accused by her, of having her work in the factory during the daytime, and at night, she’d still needed to head to the owner of the factory’s house to clean, to do the laundry, and Linda had, worked for three months straight, and only had two evenings that she didn’t need to work her overtime. The Taichung D.A.’s Office believed, that Lee, had exploited the worker, and, charged her on laws against human trafficking yesterday.
Based off of the 32nd rule against human trafficking and exploitation, Lee can be sentenced to a prison sentence of under seven years, and fined under five million dollars N.T.s, but she’d denied the allegations, claimed that Linda didn’t work over eight hours a day, that she’d given her days off on Saturdays and Sundays, and she’d never asked her to clean up her house.
The indictment stated, that Lee hired the Indonesian woman, Linda to work as a wrapper in her factory two years ago in November. Lee was suspected of making Linda work eleven and a half hours a day at the factory, and on Saturdays, eight hours, and eight-and-a-half hours on Sundays, and she’d, not followed the rules of allowing her migrant worker to have a day off for every seven days worked as specified by the law.
Linda accused her employers, that after work, Lee still demanded that she go to her home to do the laundry, to clean her place, and when she didn’t want to, Lee had slapped her body, or threatened her verbally, and she was, forced to work overtime, and help out with the household chores, she’d worked for three months straight, and only had two evenings when she was free from work, and her body couldn’t stand the fatigue any longer, that was why she’d called the immigrations for assistance.
And yes, there are those, employees who’d, hired these foreign workers, and mistreated them like so, they’d, WORKED them like D-O-G-S, become abusive, in some cases, and, these employers forgot, that it’s because of these workers, that their businesses or household are still, intact, and yet, this sort of SHIT still happens!!!
