Like those cash vouchers from a couple of years ago, that the government hands out, to “stimulate” the economy by getting the members of this society to spend??? Written by a FARMER, no wonder!!! From the Front Page Sections, translated…
The government, in order, to save Hualien, had pushed forth many policies, and yet, because of how complicated the programs became, even the hotels became, confused, and, if the hotels are already, too confused, how can the members of the public understand the systems? Actually, it’s, quite simple, you only needed a cash voucher, to solve this problem.
There was, a “Weekly Tour around the Island” voucher, that the tourists only needed to spend a little money, then, they get double the goodies they’d spent their money on. The government should hand out similar “touring vouchers”, with the values of $100N.T.s per piece, to let the hotels sell it to the tourists, and, the tourists can buy them at half prices or even, cheaper. And, these vouchers would be used like cash, and can be used in all the tourist attractions in Hualien, discounts for the hotel stays, the souvenirs, or dining, and, it would be best, that the vouchers can also, be spent at the local night markets as well.
And, keep the complicated processes of filing for the assistance to the shops, not troubling the tourists, who were there, to relax. Having the tourists spend a little money on it, that way, the vouchers wouldn’t, all go to waste at the end, but, be sure, that there’s, a maximum limit to how much each individual can buy, and, the government also need to make sure, that the shops don’t see this as a window, to JACK up the prices. And, if this system worked well, then, this sort of vouchers can keep on being used, and, whichever tourist region lacked the tourists, the government should hand them out there.
This, is too naïve, too idealistic, because, WHERE do you think, the money from these sorts of vouchers came from??? Oh, yeah, TAXPAYERS’ hard-earned DOLLARS, and, this may stimulate the local economy of the regions, for how long again??? As most of us do NOT have the luxuries, to head out on vacations all the time, especially, with the economy, slowly, hitting ROCK bottom!!!
