The Twenty-Three Year-Old Self-Taught Hacker Arrested After His Attempt to Extort the First National Bank

The First National Bank was hacked and extorted by a hacker in bitcoins two years ago in September, the police chased the leads for over a year, and finally found, that the hacker who was involved was a 23-year-old man, Chen, who graduated from the Info-Tech department of a technical high school, and he’d learned to write the hacking programs that attacked the internet, all on his own at home.

As Chen committed his first extortion case in bitcoin, he was only twenty-one. As he was caught, he’d claimed, that it was because First National’s ATM was hacked, and he’d thought it was, a good opportunity to extort them, and that was why, he’d, zoomed in on the bank, as well as the First National’s stock exchange department, as target. But, the investigators found, that Chen working as a hacker had an alternative purpose, wanted to prove his genius, to gain that sense of achievement he’d needed.

Chen claimed, that other than Firs National, he’d used DDoS attacks on the larger gaming corporations in Taiwan, China, and Singapore too, and he’d received over $30,000,000N.T. worth in bitcoin, the D.A. will be asking each of the gaming companies, to see if they had, filed for being extorted like Chen had told them.

The Hsinbei Investigative Agency searched Chen’s residence, and confiscated his computer, cell phone, along with other electronics as evidence, and sent him to the Taipei’s D.A.’s offices to be processed for extortions, the D.A., Hsiao considered, that Chen had, come clean about what he’d done, and he was quite young, with a sense of remorse, he’d not have him taken into custody.

The investigators told, that after Chen graduated from the Info-Tech department, he didn’t enter into college, but he was, very intelligent when it comes to computer, all the hacker programs for the online attacks, he’d taught himself to write, and Chen said, that he’d gone online, bought the programs that other hackers had broken, and, reprogrammed, and started, extorting the original writers of the programs.

And so, this young man had the intelligence, but he’d, not put it to good use, instead, he’d used his skills, to EXTORT, and, that just showed, how easily someone can take a wrong step, and break the laws, and, if this young man wasn’t straightened out, he’ll, do something way major than just, hacking and extorting the banks.
