The mother of the woman who’d died in another motorist accident chose to forgive, from the Front Page Sections, translated…
The man, Liu drove without a valid license, and killed the female salon manager, Chen, as the district attorney’s offices autopsied the body, Chen’s mother was distraught, but she’d, chosen to forgive; she said, “he’s young too, I hope he can get another chance in life.” The police charged Liu with manslaughter, and ticketed him for driving without a license.
The police investigated, that Chen (age 29) worked as a manager of a salon owned by her relatives, was in charge of overseeing the workings of the salon in Xitun District and the Daya Store, on the evening of the third, as she rode her motorcycle, approaching the turn, she was hit by Liu, who was going in the same directions.
Liu claimed, that back then, he was taking his girlfriend to Fengja Night Market to visit, that he’d not seen Chen who was riding ahead of him, that was what caused him to run her over; he had, taken the driver’s test, but didn’t pass it.
Chen suffered severe head trauma, and was taken to the hospital for emergency measures, Chen’s mother who lives in Tainan was called, rushed to the hospital to look after her, two days after Chen was sent to the hospital, on the fifth, she died, of the severity of her injuries, Chen’s mother was distraught, but as the district attorney’s offices autopsied the body yesterday, she’d, become calmer. As the district attorney asked the mother, “Do you want to press charges?”, Chen’s mother stated, “He’s a young man too, I hope to give him another chance, let’s see if we can reach a settlement agreement first.”, the district attorneys were very in awe at how forgiving she was.
And so, this mother whose daughter was killed by someone who was driving without a license CHOSE to forgive, because the man who’d hit and killed her child was young too, and, she’d hoped that he could get a chance, and not get punished too severely, for something he’d done so carelessly, and that takes a lot of heart to do!
