A child in protective custody, longing to go home again…translated…
In order to keep this child in protective custody to still keep in contact with her family of origin, to keep her connections with her kin, the monthly parent-child meet-up became the day the child expected the most.
On the way back to the foster care family, the child gazed out the window of the car window, she was, a totally different person compared to when the social workers drove her to see her family of origin, and, it’d made those who saw her like this, felt sad…
And so, these, are the situations that we don’t want to see happening, but, because the parents couldn’t get their own ACTS together, their children were, taken from them, and it’s for their children’s good, but, in the child’s mind, s/he only feels, that s/he is, being separated from the family that kept her/him, that s/he felt, the most belonging to.
