A step FORWARD toward gender equally, something we can learn from, from one of the more advanced countries in the world right now! Commentaries from the Front Page Sections, translated…
The world’s formula races announced awhile ago, that in the tour races, there won’t be any models strutting around the race tracks, this car racing league was, bought out by an American media group, the new owners believed it to be, unfitting to the brand name by allowing women to strut around in very little clothes on around the race tracks, and this change, was a huge challenge for this racing system that’s started back in the 1950s.
so, there would be NO more of these photos then??? Photo from online…
After the league made its announcements, there were, voices for and against it, getting louder and louder. In recent months, the women faced a ton of sexual harassments they’d, faced long-term, finally, they’d, started, fighting back, and that, is probably the primary reason for this huge change in the racing scene, “it’s about time!”, “Welcome to the 21st Century!”, the supporters hollered.
And there are, many who were, angered by this change too, especially for the right wing groups in the U.S., believed it to be how the “snow flakes’” politically correctness way of doing things, something childish. What’s wrong with younger women, dressed up pretty, and publicly, displaying their bodies, as it’d, brought joys to the lives of the viewers from before? And, what is meant, by the gender justices, had, stripped these, race girls’ rights to work, it’s not the least bit fair.
no more of these photos either…photo from online..
On the issue of female right to work, there are, a ton we can take from, from Iceland. I’d just returned from Iceland, at the start of January, the government set up the laws that made the employers pay both men and women who worked equally, this was, the very first in the world. Although, women’s rights are already, moving far ahead in Iceland as is, but, currently, women still made only about eighty-percent of what men made, and after the passing of this new law, it will be taking FOUR years, until the differences in pay for men and women to get, evened out, but, the progresses of this change in constitution is still way forward than the rest of the world’s nations.
Other than have the same wages, Iceland is only the place that banned strippers not for the sake of religious reasons, just like the race, after the new laws passed in 2010, there were laws that were set, against women using the bodies to make a living, and, some had, fought against the laws, using their claims of maintaining tradition, or fighting for women’s right to work. What’s different was, this sort of claims, can’t stand up locally in Iceland.
“What happens if a college student can’t pay their college tuition?” “It costs very little for a college education in Iceland”. “The single mothers need to raise their children!” “Seventy-six percent of children born in Iceland were to unwed mothers, and, the population of single mothers would often be more than the half of the population, there’s, a lot of social welfare programs that go into caring for the children.” As women have complete control over their bodies, having children or not, is up to them to decide, and, there are also, the longest maternity leaves and the best benefits of having children, and, in the workplace, women didn’t need to get paid lower than men, and, so, selling their bodies became, the last resorts.
Just like the former prime minister of Iceland announced in the UN women’s forum, “Men can’t displace themselves from the gender violence and the issues of unequal wages, because these aren’t issues regarding gender, but issues regarding human rights.” From the gender equality angle, although the race girls’ jobs looked flashy, but, it’s still, a job that exposed women for their bodies. As the society moves forward progressively, these sorts of systems naturally would come under attack, and, those who’d fended for the right based off of claims of traditions, are weakened.
Comparing to how much Northern Europe was progressing, the U.S. is at a halt, while in the Asian world, the issue of gender is still, a very young sapling. No matter what, in the 21st Century, as those race girls’ jobs became, outdated, for the sake of our next generations, everybody needed a mindset adjustment.
And so, this, is women’s equal rights movement in action, and, banning the race girls is the first step to getting closer to gender equality, because, they’re, stopping women from exposing themselves, to make a living, and that, is progress, but, there’s still, a long way to go, until there are, equal pays for men AND women, working in the same positions everywhere in the world here.
