I’d personally experienced the earthquake back in 1999, I’d felt a lot of emotions toward the earthquake in Hualien that’s just happened.
It was never easy, predicting earthquakes as is, people shouldn’t blame the meteorology stations’ lack of warnings, and no need to, believe in the false predictions from those, so-called prophets, to keep ourselves tightly wind up. But, although we can’t predict earthquakes, but, we can surely, prepare ourselves for it well, to reduce the casualties and injuries, down to a minimum. But, there’s still lacking in this for Taiwan, and that, is what we need to, focus on.

Right after the earthquakes happened, there’s that immediate need for rescue, but the news media kept reporting on the damages in the areas, this doesn’t help anything. In the precious time to save the lives, the media should report on what sort of equipment is needed, and the items, the medical resources the areas which were hit are needing the most, so all of the needed resources can, arrive at the designated locations on time. Regularly, the media needed to remind the public, how to reduce the damages and casualties down to a minimum regularly, to get the separate families to be adept, in protecting oneself.
The people from the areas that were hit by the earthquake, needed the practical things they can use, and the members of the public should NOT treat those places as a sight to go see or visit, to prevent the life-saving processes of the rescuers, and get off the roads, so the emergency service vehicles can pass through without much troubles.
The politicians should do more, to NOT waste the resources of the police forces, to NOT make an appearance at the areas hit the hardest, to show one’s own faces, let the police have the rest they’d needed, so they can, keep up their strengths when they’re conducting the rescues, because rescuing those who are trapped, is a long-term task.
The weather’s freezing up, there’s a need for an assortment of social work provided, and what’s most important, was to calm the minds of the residents of the areas hit by the earthquakes. Those who are lost, are lost, but there are those, who still needed saving, to help the people in those areas, to return to their tracks in life as soon as possible, to let them feel, that they’re, not alone, in this tragedy that’s hit them hard, let’s all support those in the areas hit hardest by the earthquake.
And so, that just showed, WHAT sort of a support is most pressing as these natural disasters hit: the food, the water, the shelter, and, if those politicians don’t show their faces, for a show, and start helping those who were hit the hardest, then, maybe, we can, reduce the impacts of the earthquakes on the lives of people here, to a minimum…
