A Man Fell for a Love Scam Artist Got Scammed Over Million of Dollars, Reported to the Police and Had the Woman Arrested

SCAM ALERT!!!  Falling for those, SOB stories again here, are we now??? From the Front Page Sections, translated…

“After I pass away, I need you to take care of my poor little nephew!” a tow truck driver, Wu met a woman online, and she’d claimed to be in the terminal stage of cancer, and asked him to take care of her young relative, afterwards, Hu used the identification of “God sister” and scammed Wu  for $1.5 million N.T. in the year and a half she’d talked to him; because Wu had never seen this “child” once, he’d started suspecting that he’d been, scammed, and called the cops.  As the police interrogated Hu, she couldn’t identify the woman who’d “died” or produce the “child”, she was suspected of playing two roles to scam, after the D.A. asked for the details, they’d asked the courts to have her taken into custody, and the judge granted it.

The police found, that the unmarried thirty-year-old man, Wu, a little over a year ago, met a woman, “Hsu”, they fell in love over the internet in just two months; Wu asked her to meet him, back then, the woman had him look into the distance, and told him, “Did you see, the woman from opposite of the street is me, you’re busy right now, so, I’ll, leave you to it”, and hung up; back then, Wu only saw a woman with her long hair in the wind in the distance, and believed it to be his “girlfriend”.

Wu thought he’d found true love, but, not long thereafter, the woman told him she was diagnosed with cancer, and told him of what she needed to have done for her final affairs, and asked Wu to take care of her young nephew, right then and there, Wu swore he’ll, fulfill his “girlfriend’s” dying wish; later, another 34-year-old woman, Hu showed, claimed to be the god sister of Hsu, that she’d already, died from cancer, hoped that Wu will, uphold the promise of taking care of her young nephew.

Being inexperienced, Wu had, fulfilled the promises, and started paying for the living expenses of the “young child”, and paid for the “child’s” doctors treatments too, in a year and a half, he’d paid Hu over $1.5 million N.T.s; because Hu asked for money so often, Wu’s families got to know her too.

Wu kept worrying about the “young nephew” that his “girlfriend” had, and had asked to visit him, but Hu had, found an assortment of reasons to not meet, and that was when Wu started getting suspicious, and three days ago, he’d, called the police on it.

Two days ago, Hu was accompanied by a thirty-one-year-old man, Lin to pick up the money for the child, and was taken back to the station by the officers, Hu insisted that she wasn’t scamming, but couldn’t tell the officers the whereabouts of “Hsu” and the “young nephew”; Lin, when questioned, only said that Hu had asked him to come along, that he’d not known anything else.

The police believed, that the woman had, played both roles to scam, and charged her with fraud, the District Attorneys of Chiaotou also believed that she was involved in scamming, because she couldn’t give any details of the related details, that she may destroy evidence of her running this scam, and asked the courts to get her into custody, and the courts allowed, while Lin was released, after the police inquiries.

And so, another case of preying on the weakness of man, this woman used a sob story, as how these scams all start, there’s always, that tragic tale of blah-blah-blah, to get the victims to gain sympathies, and then, scam happens, and this man was way too naïve, hadn’t he read up on these cases of scams in the news?  Or, maybe, he’s, too much, of a computer GEEK to know any better!
