These dreams we buried, they’d shattered, long, long, long, long, long (5 long’s, that oughtta be, long enough????) ago. These dreams we buried, ‘cuz they’d died, in our arms, they were, once, shared, by us both, then, you’d, walked out on them, leaving me with them, broken in my arms…
These dreams we buried, we’d needed to, ‘cuz, their dead BODIES were, stinkin’ up the environment, polluting the air, and, I refuse, to live in such a contaminated place! These dreams we buried, I mean, at LEAST, we had the DECENCY, to bury them properly, so, there’s, no fault here.
These dreams we buried, do you even remember how they were when they were still alive, well, kicking (not to mention, SCREAMING too?), ‘cuz I do, like it was only, yesterday, that we’d, brought them all home to stay with us, and, can’t really recall, when things started going down…
These dreams we buried, I’d, laid my heart (a part of my heart, at least!!!) to rest beside them, and, I got NO need, to dig up that part of my heart that’s, died with them.
These dreams we buried, I’d left this town, full of, haunting memories, and you in it too, never looked back, until now………
