The Demented Elderly Man from Kaohsiung Found Dead by the Taidong Streams

Another death, of a demented elderly who’d wandered off, someplace, far away from where he lived, from the Front Page Sections, translated…

The seventy-six year-old elderly, Weng from Kaohsiung left home and wasn’t seen again since three days ago, the families didn’t report him missing, yesterday morning, he was found by someone, dead, by the Taiping Creek in Taidong; the deceased was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, didn’t have any external injuries, the police found out that he got on the trains in Kaohsiung on his own, arrived in Taidong, but as to how he managed to walk to Taiping Streams, or what was his cause of death, they still needed to investigate further.

The families rushed to Taidong to make a positive identification, the son of the deceased told, that he had been demented for years on end, and his memories would come and go, and he’d wandered off, but found his way back home again before, he’d gone to Taidong on his own last year. The police aren’t ruing out that he may have gotten lost and wandered to Taiping Creek, that he may have accidentally died of hypothermia or had a heart attack that killed him, that there may have been other causes to his death, they’d needed to wait for the autopsy results ordered by the district attorney’s offices to clarify.

The police found a health insurance card on him, a bus/metro transit pass, and found that the deceased bought the pass on the fifths, from Kaohsiung to Taidong. The families couldn’t understand why he’d gone to Taidong, and had died next to Taiping Creek, the police are already reviewing the surveillance footages of the traffic cam on Malan Bridge and the traffic cams off of the Malan Community, and traced the whereabouts of the elderly after his arrival in Taidong.

The families told, that the deceased had left home multiple times, and in the past, he’d returned safe, and on the fifth of this month, he’d gone out again, the families didn’t pay it much mind, and he ended up dead in Taidong.

And so, this is very dangerous, a demented elderly who’d wandered off, and because previous times he’d wandered off, and got found, and was, returned home to his families, his family members didn’t pay too much attention to his being gone this time, and this, was the final time he left, because he had DIED.
