The Man Who’d Abused His Own Eight-Months-Old Daughter to Death Received Seven Years Ten Months in Prison

An eight-months-old infant girl with cleft palate was rushed to the hospital by her own parents, she was in a coma then, and, the doctors and surgeons tried saving her life for four months, and she’d, still died; the physicians based off of the new and old injuries on the infant, believed that the infant was being physically abused. The Hsinbei District Court charged the birthfather, Dai, for injuries causing death, and abandonment, gave him seven years ten months in prison, the wife, Su was charged with abandonment, and physical assault, sentenced to eight and four months, and on the assault charges, she could pay the fees partially to get out of serving the time. The case can be appealed.

The verdict pointed out, that before the infant girl was born, she’d been diagnosed with cleft palate, and the parents still decided to have her. Two years ago in March, the Dais found their eight-months old daughter to be in a coma, rushed her to the hospital, and left their personal data with the hospital, then left immediately afterwards.

As the infant was taken to the hospitals, she weighed only 7.26 pounds, was way smaller than infants who were her age, weighing in at 11 to 13 pounds, and she was covered in injuries, the hospital suspected that she had been beaten, they’d reported it to the police, but the infant girl suffered subdural hematoma caused by external injuries, and still died on July 17^th of last year. The D.A. believed that the parents were solely responsible for the young infant girl’s death, and indicted the Dais.

The Dais denied the allegations, told the police that their daughter was ill and refused to eat, that was why she was, malnourished. And toward the external injuries, Su the woman admitted to having slapped her around with clothes three, four times, while Dai denied the allegations of physical abuse, claimed that it was from the fall from the night previous as she was going downstairs and getting her bath.

The physician who’d treated the young infant girl, Liang testified, that there were external injuries on the infant’s forehead, ears, thoracic, and soles of her feet, and the CT scan on her showed that she’d suffered old and new hematomas, and hematoma of her optical nerves too, “Based off of my experience, this is a clear case of child abuse” he’d also stated, that if the child did fall from the stairs, there wouldn’t be the injuries that showed old and new, including the injuries on her ears, it’s caused by external forces of being beaten.

And because Dai’s testimonies kept changing from when the police first started interrogating him, and the way the infant fell went from unsteady and to the sides, to backwards, and the location of the fall went from the third, fourth steps to the third or second floors, and as the police interrogated him, he’d told them that his daughter didn’t like drinking the bottle, cried a lot, vomited quite often, couldn’t eat like normal children, that he’d originally worked, but he’d become taxed from taking care of his own daughter, he couldn’t even focus at work, was fired, and in a foul mood, and gotten angered easily. The courts ruled that the Dais had, hurt their own young daughter based off of the testimonies from them as well as the physicians from the hospital.

And so, another infant died, and this young baby girl went through FOUR total months of trials before she’d finally died, and it was ALL because of these parents’ bad behaviors toward her, they’d beaten her up, and, they’d, starved her too, and, there are still, a lot of lousy parents who shouldn’t even BE parents in the first place in the world like them.
