Life, the Obstacle Course

Don’t Hug Me

The husband and the wife had, separate alternative motives in their minds, as they interacted with one another, and their own young, translated…

Yoyo took a bite out of the rice balls, found that it had sesame fillings, stated, “Whoa! I don’t want the sesame flavored pieces!”, his dad took the spoon, and without another word, swallowed the rice balls in one bite.

His mom was close by watching, said, “You did that, because he’s, your child”, the dad chewed on the rice ball, and said, “Hmmmmmmmmmm?” Mom continued, “Yup, anybody else’s saliva you’d said it was yucky, but your own daughters, you’d, swallowed it without any questions.” She’d stressed that there was, no other, with her unique view point on the matter.

“oh! I’d loved the red bean fillings!”, Yo-Yo gladly, chimed on this one. Her dad looked nervous now, said, “red bean? Where is it?”, he’d immediately gotten the bowl from his daughter, and, checked the pieces thoroughly.

Her mom smiled, “Look at your nervousness. There were some red bean ones, and I’d, cooked them together!” The dad said, “Don’t mix them up.” Mom puffed some air out, without a word.

Yo-Yo looked at the clock on the walls, said, “It’s almost noon, grandma will be home soon! Dad, let me go!”, as she’d struggled, to get out of the seat.

The dad allowed Yo-Yo to be, let her go. Started thinking about his mother-in-law, widowed at age thirty, and raised her eldest daughter up was naturally difficult, and, that made her firm, steady, and stable, but, there’s, no reason, for her, to play it like she and her family were, higher than the rest. Without her husband, she’d, stayed in the army retirement villages, and she’d, needed to stay a widow, in order, to get taken care of by the government continually, in the retired army village, who is to say who’s not?

The youngest daughter got knocked up, and, married in the consent of the mother-in-law, and why didn’t she allow him to enter into her stay? A few years passed, the child is about to be school age, and, the dad can only, come into the house, to steal a kiss from his own daughter, to hug her too. Even Yoyo understood, that grandma didn’t like daddy, that she can’t see him hug her.

“Have the one with the peanut, see, the one with the red dot on top, that’s with the peanut filling.”, Dad coaxed Yo-Yo. Turned to his wife, said, “Don’t tell your mother I bought it, or, she would never eat it. There are ten pieces total, we only need to eat two at a time, then, the effects would show. Then, we get divorced, and Yoyo is under my custody, and, you’re, free.”

Mom was without any words, totally, expressionless.

“This year, I’d had FOUR rice balls, one sesame, I hated it, one peanut, it was okay, two red beans, my favorite, grandma’s too”. Yoyo announced, with that innocence.

He couldn’t recall why, but since the start, his mother-in-law had, disliked him, no matter how well behaved he was, how hard he’d worked, he’d become, like a breeding machine, after he got his wife pregnant, with a granddaughter, the son-in-law became, totally, obsolete. As dad though, he’d, pulled Yoyo close. “Only a hug, grandma will be home soon.”, then, Yoyo fell into a deep sleep.

Dad had, misunderstood, though that grandma was the only thing between his happiness, that getting rid of her, then, everything will be normal again. While mom had made a different observation, getting rid of the daughter, then, the man won’t show up again, and then, she gets to, live her life in peace.

And so, this just showed, how the separate genders can have a difference of interpretation of the exact same things, and these two adults both saw their loves ones as obstacles to their own happiness, without knowing, that they’re the ones, who are, screwing things up!
