Something that came out of this accidental death that’s positive, and, it often takes something like this to happen, before people felt compelled to become more aware, why is that??? From the Newspapers, translated…
Making a Total of 30,000 Safety Banners, the Parents Sponsorship Maxed Out in One Day, the Parents Held Back Their Loss, Donated the Excess Money They Received as Condolences by Loved Ones to Make the Banners, Hoping that “Our Son Would be the Last Victim”
The fourth grade boy was hit while crossing the roads, in the end, he’d died in his mother’s arms after stating to her, “Mom, it hurts!”, this accidental death touched the lives of many parents, the Child & Youth Protections Association made 30,000 “Right-of-Way Flags”, yesterday, the flags were distributed to all the elementary school students in the elementary schools in Taoyuan, and the child’s parents held back their grief, donated the money they received as condolences of the loss of their young son to make the banners, hoping to prevent another tragedy like this.

The Children & Youth Protective Foundation started the “Banners of Love; Gaining the Right of Way” activity, and because making the small banners cost $300,000N.T.s, many parents and head of PTAs in one day had sponsored the cause, and in just one day, they’d, gotten enough funding for the banners. The very first batch of banners were sent to the young boy’s school, Tong-An Elementary. The child’s father said, “I hope that my son would be the last child who died as a victim”, that all children will leave home happy, and come home safe.
And so, from this young child’s death, something good came out of it, more awareness of traffic safety, and the parents whose child had died in the accident turned their love for their young son, into something more substantial, to help keep everybody else’s children safe as they cross the roads.
