A Man Demanded that the Fire Department Pay Him $7.54 Million N.T. for the Careless Rescues that’s Caused Him to Scar His Face

Seven Years Ago, Lin was Sent by His Company to Clean the Oil Tanks, and Because of the Reduction of Oxygen Concentration Inside, He’d Passed Out, as the Fire Fighters Went to Rescue Him, They’d Cut the Oil Tanks, Causing a Spark, Which Had Disfigured His Face. He’d Gone to Courts to Sue the Country for the Damages, Asked for Over $7.54 Million N.T.’s; as He Went to Testify in Court, He’d Sighed, “At the Start of All of This, I’d Wanted to End My Life, My Daughter Was So Scared of Me She’d, Kept Herself Faraway from Me”, and Now, I Just Want a Formal Apology.

After Lin’s court appearances, he’d rushed to the hospital for treatment, there are still needed surgeries on his neck. Lin said, don’t the firefighters know that when they cut open the oil tanks, the sparks would cause an explosion? It’d been seven years since, he’d been severely injured from head to toe, and couldn’t work.

The 41-year-old Lin, because of the accident, became a severely handicapped individual. He’d pointed out that on October 2^nd, 2010, he went to clean the cylindrical tank of 4.8 meters in height, and diameter of 2.8 meters, and because there’s a reduction of oxygen inside the tank, he’d passed out.

Back then, the firefighters Lee and Chaung received the calls and went to rescue him. Lin accused the firefighters of having gone through the formal trainings, that they should’ve been aware that there was still diesel inside the tanks, and insisted on using machinery to cut open the oil tanks, and the sparks from the machines had ignited and caused him to have severe burns on his face, his thorax, his hands and his right leg too.

After the incident, he’d undergone multiple surgeries, and still needed physical therapy to date, other than asking for the two million dollars for the emotional distress, he’d gotten burned at age thirty-four, couldn’t work again, and, based off of the labor insurance calculations of retirement at age 65, he’d lost $4.28 million N.T. in his earning, after calculating the cost for the nurse’s aide, he’d asked for over seven million dollars in payment by the country.

The attorney Lin hired, Wu stated, that after the incident, Lin underwent seven, to eight constructive surgeries, including his ears too, and because of amputations of his hands, it’d become a circular ball like Doraemon’s hands, there was NO way for him, to reenter into the workforce; some who’d asked him to help work temporarily were only giving him “handouts”, and asked him to carry the items with his elbows.

After Lin’s accident, his wife left him, his aging parents could no longer look after him. His attorney told the judge, that this accident had, ruined Lin’s life, and in the future, he can only live off of the payments of the damages from the country.

At the first trial, the Hsinbei District Courts believed that the firefighters didn’t insist on using the suspending ropes to go into the tans, that they’re NOT negligent, that Lin lost his claims; on the second trial, the judge believed, that the firefighters Lee and Chuang were supposed to know that using the electric saw can cause a spark, and ignite the oil tanks, and mandated that the government pay Lin $4.12 million N.T.s.

The firefighters appealed, and claimed that based off of precedence, there’s an nearly a hundred-percent death rate is falling into the gas tanks, that they “were running the race against time”, that was what made them decided to use the electric saws, and the Highest Courts believed that the firefighters’ claims were reasonable, and that the factory workers never mentioned that there was diesel fuel in the tanks, they’d tossed back the original verdict by the Highest Courts, and sent the case to be ruled again in the district courts.

And so, this, IS a tragic accident, and it sounded as though the man who was injured needed someone to BLAME for his sufferings, so he went after his rescuers, when the ones to blame should’ve been the factory the oil tanks belonged to, they didn’t make the environment safe enough, which was why the man fell in, and, the fire department made the calls of using an electric saw to cut through the tank, not knowing that the sparks were going to, cause a fire that burned this man.
