Door, a Poem

Translated…

My Child Always Knocks

in Attempt to Disrupt

Everything I Was Doing

Bathing, Sleeping, Going to the Toilet

In order to Prevent Myself from Hearing that Rush, Like He was

About to Break into the Room, that Annoying Knocking I’d

Stopped Closing My Doors

Since, all the Doors in the House had

Lost Their Original Purposes

The Doors to the Bathrooms

to the Kitchen

to the Bedrooms

to the Lanai

what we need, time away from our families, for nobody else but our selves…not my photo…

They’d Always Opened Up Their Mouths Wide

Chewing on the Naked Me

I Was, Swallowed, then, Spit Back Out

Day in, Day Out, Carrying that

Still Present, Not Yet Disappeared

Teeth Marks

So, this is when a parent felt pressed by her/his own child, because, a child demands a LOT out of us, and sometimes, we just want our overdue five, but we can’t, because the children are, demanding our undivided attention.
