A pair of sister in the city of Taichung made a suicide pact, the younger sister took a knife, stabbed it into her own heart, and died, the older sister stabbed herself multiple times, and injured her own heart and lungs too, she was in immense pain, and called out for help from her family, and she was rushed to the hospital, she’s in critical condition still. The police investigated, that both women suffered from long-term depression for over four years to date, in the cowritten note they’d left, it said that they hoped their second eldest sister can take over looking after their parents, and forgive them for being not living up to their filial piety responsibilities toward the parents.
The police investigated that these sisters were thirty-five and thirty-seven years old, they were very close; they still have two older sisters. Because the sisters were emotionally unstable, they were taken care of by their second eldest, and lived with their second eldest sister and her husband.
The police investigated and found, that the sisters’ depressions were under control for years on end, but since last week, they’d started becoming emotionally unstable, they’d had a relapse, it seemed, and constantly talked of suicide, the second eldest sister paid special attention to them, but still wasn’t enough to prevent the tragedies.
At around a little past three in the afternoon yesterday, the thirty-five year-old older woman ran into their second eldest sister’s bedroom, covered in blood, for help, she’d told her that she’d stabbed herself with a fruit knife, injured her own neck and hands, as well as heart and lungs too, before she got to the hospital, she was still conscious, but had been in critical condition; and her younger sister was found on the bed, with the wound on her heart that killed her.
The families told, that the older sister talked about how the knives at home weren’t sharp enough at home, wanted to get a brand new one; the police found the receipts for the knife and the knife the sisters used to mutilate themselves with, and found another letter signed by both women written to their father and their second eldest sister, it’d said, that they’d been overwhelmed with illness so long, and they just wanted it all to end, the police deducted that they’d made a suicide pact.
The two sisters’ elderly father cried, that he’d felt awful, burying his own daughters, now he only hopes to bring his youngest daughter back home to Nantou to lay her down to rest.
So, this, is what happens when you don’t get your mental illnesses under control, and, maybe it’s the season, after all, the autumn is known, to have an affect on people’s moods (like in seasonal affective disorder???), and, the family didn’t take the sisters’ calls for help seriously enough, and had the families watched these ladies more closely, then, this may have been avoided, but it wasn’t!
