A man from Kaohsiung, Gong was addicted to the gaming machines, he’d spent up ALL his mother’s life savings, couldn’t afford the care for his own mother who’d become bedridden from a stroke, along with the care for his older brother in the nursing home, he’d gotten them both home, and was suspected of starving them both to death, and duct-taped the windows and doors of his home, and used the air fresheners, to mask the smell of the corpses; the Kaohsiung D.A.’s Office indicted him on murder of his closest of kin, and asked the courts to give him the death penalty.
The indictment pointed out, that Gong’s (age 50) older brother had a stroke eight years ago, his mother looked after him, and, this March, his mother too, had a stroke, the two of them were living in the same nursing home; although the city government’s social services department had given out the money assisting, but the family still needed to pay for the most of the charges of the stays; but, Gong was suspected of being addicted to the arcade machines and online games, he’d squandered away his own mother’s lifetime savings, and could no longer pay for the nursing home fees.
And because Gong had owed five months’ worth of fees, on the thirtieth of May this year, he’d taken his mother and older brother home, and the nursing home they’d stayed in suggested that he could, transfer them into a cheaper home, but he’d not taken their advice, he’d also, banned the rest of the relatives from visiting his own mother and older brother; and because his mother and older brother were bedridden, couldn’t care for themselves in daily living, needed to be fed through the tubes for their meals, starting on June 2nd, Gong had, stopped giving them water and food, he’d starved his own mother to death four days later, and, his older brother lasted one whole week without food or water, he’d died too.

Gong placed his mother and older brother’s corpses on the bed duct-taped the cracks in the door, the window, and the keyholes, along with other spare places, spread out the salt, the baking sodas, and the moth balls, to mask up the smell of their rotting corpses, and burned incense for them, accompanied the bodies for over two weeks; but because the Department of Environmental Sanitations was about to forcibly enter to spray the mosquito repellents, Gong saw how what he’d done was about to get busted, he’d left a note on the 28th, “Have the judge sentence me to the death penalty”, then left home, and started hiding out in the online cafes.
Gong’s older sister, on July fourth, couldn’t get in touch with him, she’d called the police and broke into their home, and found her mother, her older brother were, already dead; the D.A. believed, that Gong took his own ailing mother and brother home, had the responsibilities of caring for them, but didn’t feed them, and denied the relatives to visit them, to offer assistance, causing them to die, he’d murdered his own kin by doing nothing for them, that there’s, great malice in what Gong had done, and, the law just can’t be, lenient toward him at all.
So, this, is a tragedy that struck the family, because the man didn’t want to pay for the nursing home care fees, he’d taken his ill mother and brother home, and, because he had the gambling habits, he’d, spent ALL the money that was supposed to have been used to care for his own mother and brother, and starved them both to death, and if that’s not him doing bad, hurting his own loved ones, with malice in mind, I don’t know what would be!
