He’d Not Shown Up at School for Nine Months, His Mother Committed Suicide by Burning Charcoal and He’d Accompanied Her

There was a tragedy that struck, and resulted in two deaths, a mother and her young son, the police and fire department broke into a rental suite in Yong-Kang District in Tainan yesterday, found the mother-son pair dead in the bathrooms, they’d estimated the time of death from over seven days ago, there was a burned up bowl of charcoal on the scene, the unfinished sleeping pills, the anti-depressants, along with other prescription medications, there was no sign of struggle or forced entry, no note either. The police already notified Tsai’s family up north, the police and the D.A.’s offices is scheduling an autopsy to clarify just what happened.

The Yong-Kang police substation investigated and found, that Tsai (age 39) and her seven-year-old son just moved into the suite this July. the landlord told, that Tsai seemed to work as an online auctioneer, and paid the rents on time, and at the end of last month, he’d just received payments from her, he can’t understand why she’d killed herself.

The other tenants at around noon, smelled something rancid and notified the police. As the police and fire department arrived, they’d found Tsai and her son lying on the floor of their bathroom.

Tsai’s father told the police, that he hadn’t heard from his own daughter in a very long time, didn’t know how she was doing; the other tenants told, that this mother-son pair rarely interacted with the other tenants at all.

The Department of Education told, that this young boy was in the second grade, but had been absent from school since February this year, and the school reported him as a dropout student, and the school and the Department of Education continued to show concerns, to persuade the parent to get the boy to school, it didn’t work; and after July, the mother and son moved, and, the Department of Education had lost contact with them, until the Youth Squad found out where she lives on the 27^th of last month, Tsai refused to talk to them. The social workers contacted her on the seventh of this month, told her they could provide the tutoring services for her son, but she’d, declined their help.

So, this mother was selfish, in taking the life of her own young son in committing suicide, and, the young boy was just a casualty of his mother’s problems, and, lives are lost here.
