The forty-year-old man, Lee was found two days ago, having committed suicide by burning charcoal with his 39-year-old wife in a cargo container of a farm, they’d been dead over a week; the police found out that they were both addicts, and suspected that it’s because of money that’s caused them to commit suicide.
The deceased couple has a five-months-old young daughter, two months ago, when Lee had an active arrest warrant on him for illegal substances, Lee’s wife lost control, and the young infant girl was placed in emergent care by the social services; as the social workers learned the couple having committed suicide, they were shocked, stated, “Thankfully, we were able to, save their daughter.”
The social services department of Pingdong County stated, that since the infant girl was placed, the social workers scheduled meetings with the Lees several times, but they’d missed the dates, and as the social workers went to their address to check, they’d found their front door locked; until yesterday when police was called, that was when the social services department learned that the parents had committed suicide.
The Social Services Department told, that they’d never received a call for help from the Lee’s, that the infant girl was placed in foster care, is healthy and adapting well; they planned to contact the infant girl’s grandparents, and assess if she should continue to be placed in foster care.
The police said, that around four in the afternoon two days ago, Wang called the police, said that the container building on his property was broken into, and he’d found two bodies on the beds; the officers went to check, and based off of the decompositions of the bodies, they looked like they’d been dead for over a week. The police based the things left behind, and identified the deceased as Lee and his wife, and had the families come to make a positive identification.
Because there’s the burned out charcoal in the room, and the doors and windows were sealed up with towels, and no signs of struggle, after the police and coroners reviewed all the evidences at the scene, they’d concluded that it was a suicide, and that they may have been under too much economic duress that they couldn’t handle it.
And thankfully, their young daughter was already placed in custody of the social services department, otherwise, there would be THREE lives lost, and these two adults just couldn’t withstand the trials of their live, and they’d, killed themselves, making their child an orphan.
