The life-saving measures performed on a man, and without the volunteer firefighter, this man may be dead already! From the Front Page Sections, translated…
The reporter of a news station, Fu was in a car crash this past May, lost a lot of blood, and had stopped breathing for a short while; the former volunteer fireman passed by and stopped his bleeding and resuscitated him back to life, pulled Fu back from hell’s gate. After Fu was rescued, he’d found Chang through the Hsinbei Fire Department, and called him up, thanked him repeated, and said that he was an “angel from the heavens!”
As Fu was in that car crash, his femoral artery was severed, and lost a lot of blood, he’d lost signs of life at the scene; the forty-three-year-old Chang put what he’d learned to use, plus with the resuscitation measures performed by the firefighters and the paramedics who came later, it’d miraculously, brought Fu, who’d lost signs of life for twenty three whole minute back to life.
Back then, Fu didn’t know that it was Chang who’d saved his life, and after months in rehabilitation, his life went back to normal, and this September, he’d gone to the Fire Department of Hsinbei City to show his gratitude for saving his life, and learned, that Chang was the man who actually performed the measures to save him.
Last month Fu wrote about this near-death experience of his on FB, “As you’d passed through the scene of the accident, seeing me lying in blood, you’d shown no fear, and used what you’d learned, and performed CPR on me; it was your professionalism, your courage, that is why I’m still living today.” he’d posted his article on the various groups on FB, to help himself find this man who’d saved his life, two days ago, the Hsinbei Fire Departments found Chang.
Chang is a delivery man, has a higher level of paramedics certification, because many years ago, his home caught on fire, and he and his families were saved by the firefighters, he’d decided to get involved as a volunteer firefighter, he’d worked on the volunteer firefighter squad for eight years, until last year when he’d moved away, he’d left the station. He’d recalled, that at the start of May he’d driven past the where Fu’s car crashed, he saw that there was a traffic hold up before him, and felt instinctively, that something wasn’t right, he’d gotten out of his own vehicle, found a man lying in a pool of blood, and lost his consciousness, and at the moment, without a second thought, he’d used the first-aid training he had, taken out a towel, tied it around Fu’s thigh to stop the bleeding, and performed CPR on him.
Chang said, he’d never come into contact with such a dire situation, back then there was only one thought, “I need to save him!”, he thought, that if he’d not performed the emergency resuscitation measures, Fu’s brains may have been depleted of oxygen, and may not even make it to the hospital alive, and so, he’d continued doing CPR on him, until the ambulance arrived, and the paramedics took over.
After Chang was told that Fu’s life was saved he’d said, “I’m truly glad! I’d, saved a man’s life.”, and, Fu showed gratitude repeate4d to Chang on FB, and called him up personally, to than the man who saved his life in person!
So, this man used what he’d learned, and allowed his life-saving instincts to take over, to save this man’s life, and that still just showed, how something someone does at a certain time, that may be considered as just doing what a good citizen should, can make such a huge impact on the life of another!
