A Factory Plant Illegally Disposing of Toxic Chemicals Killed Someone, the Second-Generation of the Business Received Nine Years in Prison

As the sewage worker, Chen was working in Hsinbei City, he’d, inhaled in too much cyanide gas, and died of toxic poisoning, the police chased the origin of the toxic fumes to an upstream factory, The Chiu-Tang Corporation’s privately disposing of waste material, and indicted the founders of the company, the father-son pair, Changs.  The Hsinbei District court sentenced both men to nine years in prison, for not complying with the prevention of pollution laws, and the company was mandated to pay five million dollars N.T. to the government for the pollutions, and, the charges against the son was dropped, due to not having enough evidence to convict.

In June of 2015, the father-son pair, the Chens took the job of maintaining the sewage systems, Chen who’d started having difficulties breathing, was rushed to the hospitals, but still died, and this incident had caused one death and two injuries.  After the D.A., the police, and the coroners examined the facts, they’d found, that it was, the workers inhaling in the cyanide in the air that’s killed and injured them, and found, that the Chiu-Tang Corporation had illegally, disposed of waste water, and the waste water contained copper, chromium, cyanide, along with some other toxic substances.  To this day, as Chen thought about how his son died, he was still, in deep grief, “every appearance to court had been too trying for us.”

In the trials, the father-son pair, the Changs denied their involvements, and, claimed, that the samples taken by the Department of Environmental protection wasn’t washed thoroughly, that the sample they took may have been contaminated in alternative ways.  But the workers of the department of environmental protection stated, that the samples showed not only an excessive reading for heavy metals, and the reading for nickel, was over 120 times, “it’s toxic waste water”; the courts investigated, that the pH reading for the polluted water sample was 2.95, extremely acidic.

The verdict stated, that Chang is a grade A technician for handling waste water, and yet, he’d, secretly taken shortcuts to dispose of the waste water, causing the death of Chen, and in the trials, he’d denied his actions, not reached a settlement with the families, it’s clear, that he is, guilty.  And, there wasn’t evidence of Chang, the son’s involvement in the disposal of the toxic waste water, and so, he was found, not guilty.

And this still just showed, how serious pollution can affect the world, but because these factories need to operate, and, they have total disregard over the amount of toxic fumes, toxic wastes the factories are producing, that, is why this man died by accidentally, inhaling in the fumes, and the courts found the owners of the company guilty, because they’d failed to take safety measures, in disposing of the toxic waste materials.
