The fraud suspect, Lin had an active arrest warrant on him, for falsifying as his own brother, to fraudulently, claim the insurances, for the first time yesterday, that District Courts in Taichung started ruling over the case, and Lin admitted openly to committing fraud and murder, but claimed that he had a mental condition, plus his older brother had intended to rob him of his jewelries to pay his gambling debts, that was why he’d murdered him in a whim and torched up his body, that his actions weren’t premeditated. The judge agreed for a psych evaluation.
The D.A. accused, that Lin (age 48) was a businessman who’d done quite well for himself, his families bought million dollars of life insurances for him, five years ago, he was divorced and failed in his business ventures, was overwhelmed with the law suits, and he’d attempted to use his own 56-year-old older brother’s identity, to begin his life anew, with the help from his mother (age 75), he’d gone to the local land offices, and, falsified himself as his older brother, and got a brand new identity as his older brother.
In June first of this year, in the rezoning district of Xitun, Taichung, Lin murdered his own older brother, chopped his brother’s hands off, and, placed his own driver’s license in his older brother’s wallet, his business card, and dice, then, set the body on fire, planned to fake his own death by murder; but the wife of the deceased called the cops, reported him being missing, the officers checked the DNA, and found that the victim was Lin’s older brother, and they’d followed the leads, and arrested him and solved the case.
The D.A. indicted Lin on falsifying documentation, and asked for the life sentence, Lin’s mother was also indicted for falsifying document as well. As the courts were preparing to try the case yesterday, Lin admitted to what he had done in court, and claimed that it was not premeditated; Lin’s mother also stated, that she didn’t know what she was going to the land offices for, that his son told her to sign something, and she had.
But, last week, the D.A.’s offices provided the reasons, including the translations of Lin with his own mother at local jail, and, the D.A. believed that Lin pressing his mother to settle the case with his own older sister-in-law fast, and how Lin’s mother didn’t feel the least disgusted for her son’s murder of her other son, that it wasn’t, “normal”, which clearly showed, that Lin wasn’t showing remorse over what he’d done.
And so, this man is still charged with MURDER, because he’d accumulated gambling debts, and, he concocted up the plans of murdering his own older brother, and allowed his own brother to take his identity, so he could get away, from being hunted down by the collectors, but, he didn’t count on the fact, that all of his bad actions will get busted.
