Because the vegetable vendor was an “unexpected casualty” of this man’s suicide??? From the Front Page Sections, translated…
A man, Lin killed himself by leaping off of his seventh floor home last year, and, it’d killed the woman, Chen who was setting up a vegetable stand beneath on the ground floor, Chen’s husband and five sons sued the Lins for a total of $6.5 million N.T. for emotional damages, the Highest Courts maintained the rulings from the first and second trial’s, and mandated that the Lins needed to pay Chen’s family $5.25 million N.T.s, case closed.
Lin who lived in Nantou was originally, an owner of a printing factory, twenty years ago, he was diagnosed with having delusions and depression, couldn’t work anymore, on the day of the incident, he was in a bad psychologica state, his wife originally was taking him to the doctors, but something came up at home, she’d planned to handle the things at home before she took her husband to get treated, but, in the time, Lin committed suicide by leaping off the building where he lived.
The verdict pointed out, that at nine in the morning on April 26th of last year, Lin climbed over the walls of his seventh floor residences, to the seventh floor of the next building, the neighbors saw him wandering, and told him to get down, fifteen minutes later, he’d returned to the top, and took the leap downward, and killed the woman, Chen who’d set up a vegetable stand down below, and Lin died of shock from the traumas from the impacts of his leap downward as well.
Chen’s husband pointed out, that Lin took a leap right at the marketplace, there were a lot of vendors down below, and that Lin had rented their first-floor lot to the stands as well, and the way Lin committed suicide, was out of near where he’d lived, clearly, he was, attempting to not turn his property into a place where someone had died.
Lin’s wife stated, that her husband was diagnosed with delusions and depression for years on end, he’d been admitted to the Tsaotun Mental Hospital repeatedly, that as he took the leap, he was having a relapse of his delusions, he couldn’t possibly know the consequences of his own actions.
The courts believed, that from the scene, Lin would have a difficult time, committing suicide from his own home, that if Lin wasn’t without the physical capabilities, there was, NO way he could’ve completed his suicide, believed, that as he took the leap, he’d still, had the sound judgments of what was happening all around him, that Lin’s kin should pay Chen’s husband $1.2 million N.T.s, as well as $800,000N.T. to each of the five son’s whom Chen was survived by.
So this, is how an uninvolved bystander, who was, at the WRONG place at the WRONG time was, killed by accident, and the man who’d, committed suicide, killed someone ELSE as he was, killing himself, and that’s, MORE lives lost than necessary………
