An Elderly Man’s Drip Was Switched Out, He’d Passed Out and When He Woke Up, All of His Assets were Gone

This, is a newer type of scams, I suppose, from the Front Page Sections, translated…

An elderly in Kaohsiung at the start of this month was hospitalized, and was hit on by an unknown individual who claimed her/himself to be a medical staff member, but, as the individual changed his drips, he’d gone into coma, and lost the $12,000N.T. he had on him.  The hospital said, that there were tranquilizers inside the urine sample of the elderly, that there had never been a case where someone falsified her/himself as a member of the medical staff to rob anybody, the police already zoomed in on three possible suspects based off of the surveillance footages.

The police and the hospital investigated that the elderly was hospitalized due to a condition at a hospital in Yenchiao District.  Because he was supposed to get released on the seventh, the night before he’d gone to make a withdrawal at the ATM for $12,000N.T., to pay for the treatment procedures and his own hospitalization, then, he’d gone to the yard to walk and to smoke, that, was where he’d met the scam artist.

The elderly told, that the man came up to him and started having a conversation with him, he claimed to be a member of the medical staff working at the hospital, said that his drip was almost out, that he could help him change it, he’d handed the drip bottle to the man, and, not long thereafter he’d, passed out, and, as he woke, he was already back in his own hospital room, with the $12,000N.T. he withdrew, gone from him.

The hospital said, that back then, someone called them said that the elderly was lying on the lawn, and the paramedics and the security guards found he was being treated there, and immediately took him back to his room, and called the police, the next day, the elderly was stabilized, and they’d, released him from the hospital.

The hospital pointed out, that in the past, there were pickpocket cases, but this sort of drugging someone then robbing him was a first, and, the urine analyses tested positive for sleep aids or tranquilizers, and the drugs in the elderly’s urine sample, the hospital wasn’t using.

So, this, is really bad, these con artists had, infiltrated into the facilities where the patients should BE safe, and, this just, one of MANY ways, that someone can get SCAMMED, that just showed, how dangerous this world is becoming by the day here…
