Poverty is Caused by the Unfairness of the Systems

The opinion of the vice president!  From the Front Page Sections, translated…

The Vice President, Jen-Ren Chen stated, that poverty was seen as a personal issue from before, and now, the view was proven wrong, that poverty is caused by a combination of suppression of structure, an unfair system, and being taken advantage of.

Chen stated, that for those living in poverty, it’s not important just to look after their needs, but also to help them enter into the society, that is the true form of care.

As Chen made his speech, he’d stated, that in the past, we are leaned towards believing that poverty is caused by the individuals, that it was caused by not working hard enough, and not having morals, but after the depressions, now, everybody realizes, that poverty is caused by the structural oppressions, the unfairness in the systems, and being taken advantage of.

He’d said, that we should all work together, to reject being poor, so every poor person can get their basic human rights provided to them, and if we can’t reject being poor, then, there would be a dent in the humanitarian efforts in Taiwan, that we should all work together, start from the central government, into the local, and then, the individual, to reject poverty.

Uh, this is just WHACKED!  I mean, if you’re poor, mostly, it’s due to your NOT working hard enough in your lives, and, what right have you, to BLAME the society for NOT giving you equal opportunity?  And, the V.P. of this country might need his BRAINS examined as he’d felt this way about what causes poverty………
