Theft, from the Front Page Sections, translated…
The man, Jun-Yi Lu was suspected of breaking into the Military History Museum and Stealing an army knife, then injuring a military guard on duty in front of the President’s office in August, Lu told the D.A., that he planned to use the knife he’d stolen to assassinate President Tsai, the Taipei District Attorney’s Offices believed, that Lu committed the crimes at random because of his political beliefs, that there would be more who’d modeled after him, and causing uprising in the society, and he’d not shown any remorse afterwards, they’d asked the judge to give him seven years in prison for the crimes they’d charged him with: attempted murder and damages, and others.
Lu (age 51) on the morning of August 18th, first went to a hardware store in Wanhua, bought a hammer, then walked to the Military History Museum on Guiyang Street, headed up to the second floor display, broken the glass panes, stolen a Japanese military issued knife.
After he’d stolen the knife, he’d broken into the president’s office, and was stopped by the military guards. They’d gotten into physical altercation, Lu swung the knife, and it’d injured the military guard, Chou’s right neck, left eye and both his hands, and was subdued by other military guards, and the military guard police force even discovered the Five-Star Flag inside his backpack, the police arrested Lu.
And turned out, this man was, a FANATIC, and the thing about these political fanatics is that you do NOT know what caused them to crack, it can be something as simple as hearing a speech made by a government official, or something that caused them to feel aroused on T.V. and, seven years for this man’s bad actions is still, too lenient in my opinion, because who’s to say, that after seven years as he gets released, he won’t do something even MORE outrageous???
