The Joys of Going Back to School, on Finding Fulfillment in Learning After Retirement

Continuing education, keeping our minds sharp, even after retirement, translated…

I’d only begun my life as a student in the humanities in the distant education university, and, although it’s trying, studying and working at the same time, but, I’d, enjoyed myself in the processes.  There’s a wide variety of age range of the students, the grandparents in their eighties to nineties, and younger generations in their twenties and thirties too.

Because I’d started school out of my interest, I’d especially, cherished this opportunity, like I’d, returned back to my younger years.  I’d gone to school for seven years on end, and now, I’m finally, graduating, I’d felt, a bit, unwilling to depart from it.  AT this time, my classmates invited me to take the department entrance exam for the life education majors at Fujen Catholic University, to which I’d agreed.

In July, a professor from the university taught a class early, I’d gladly sat in the classroom, and felt my love of learning, reignited again.  And, my family laughed at me on how I not take my time to relax, to enjoy my retirement, without knowing, that what made me happiest, is finding a group of friends with whom I can share my common interests with, and, the degree was, no longer my primary goal.

Learning is a never-ending path, I hope, I’ll, never stop, that I shall, keep learning, until my time in done.

So, this is the attitude you took, to entering back into school, because, maybe in your younger years, you weren’t able to get that education you wanted to due to whatever reasons there may have been, and now, you’d started going back to school again, of your own free will, there’s, no pressures of passing exams, of making the grade, just pure enjoyment of learning something new about the subject areas that interests you, and that, is why you’re, motivated…
