Suicides, that could’ve been prevented, had he, NOT made the wrong choices in life, from the Front Page Sections, translated…

Wu and his two other family members were found yesterday, dead, in their rented home in Hsintien, Hsinbei City, the three bodies became swollen and black, the stench wreaked from their residence, the police suspected they’d been dead for over a week.  The police also discovered what seemed to be a last note with “Do not contact anybody we know”, there was also, a bowl of porridge, containing unknown substances, the police suspected that the family had taken the poisons repeatedly to kill themselves, they’d already asked the D.A. to get an autopsy.

The deceased were the sixty-four year old Wu, his Burmese wife, Lee (age 62), and their twenty-four year old daughter, the family of three registered their residential status at Lee’s friend’s residence.  Lee’s friend told, that Wu was a physician, a decade ago, he’d made the bad investments into a computer cram school, started accumulating the debts, there were foreign debtors who’d arrived in Taiwan to collect from him, in order to evade getting found by the debtors, Wu switched clinics a lot, but, had lost contact for a while now, he wasn’t sure if he was still practicing medicine.

Lee’s younger brother was surprised at how his older sister and her family had committed suicide by consuming poison, he said he’d lost touch with her for many years, he’d only received a text from his older sister, wanting to get him to loan her $300,000, but because he wasn’t sure it was her, he’d wanted to meet her in person, but, she’d not replied back to him.

The police told, that the Wu’s in 2011 started renting an apartment on the 14th floor at a community in Hsintien District back in 2011, the family paid the rents on time, but, in the middle of last month, when the rent was due, Wu asked Kao to give him an extension until the end of the month, and because he hadn’t heard from him since, and, he’d lost contact with the man for the last ten days, yesterday, Kao went to Wu’s house to find him.

But, as he rang the door, banged on the door, nobody answered, plus he’d smelled something bad, Kao thought that something wasn’t quite right, so he’d called the police; as the police and fire department arrived, and broke down the door, they’d found the family of three had been dead for days already.  Kao told the police, that he’d contacted Wu by phone; for the past six years, there was only once or twice he’d delayed paying the rents, and this time, he’d not paid for a long time, that was why he’d come to check.

The police found that Wu and his wife were dead on the bed, and Wu seemed to have flipped over and rolled to the floors, with the quilts wrapped around him, the doors and windows were shut completely; the fire department checked for carbon monoxide, it wasn’t too high, and they ruled out foul play.

The police found on the bedroom tables, a pot of porridge, with a few empty cups, the forensics took the residuals back and found that the white liquid was made from an unknown substance, the police believed that the family of three had consumed poison to kill themselves, but the contents of what they took is still waiting to get found out.

The police also found a note underneath the cell phone by the eating utensils, with only “Do not contact any of our kin”, as for who wrote the note, the police is still waiting to find out.

So, this, is a tragic tale of death, of how this family fell, because of the doctor’s failed investment ventures, and the debts accumulated, and, he was having a difficult time, providing for his family, and in the end, he and his family took the only way out, DEATH, and, all of this could’ve turned out differently, had this man asked for help from someone who was able to give him the help needed, to get him out of debt.
