Talk about your BYSTANDER EFFECT, combined with the DIFFUSION of RESPONSIBILITY here!  From the Front Page Sections, translated…

A forty-six year-old man, Ting went to the net café to play online games two evenings ago, in the late night hours, he’d fallen on the chair he was sitting in, and never got up again, the next morning, the workers found him foaming at the mouth, already dead; the police found that Ting had a history of liver sclerosis, and suspected, that it was his staying up all night, that’s caused his liver to work too hard, leading to his sudden death, they’re waiting for the D.A. to get with the coroners to clarify his cause of death.

The police found, that two evenings ago at six, Ting rode his motorcycle to the net café, and late in the night at midnight, Ting didn’t leave, and just, lay down on the couch in the shop to rest, with his right leg on his seat.

in a place like this, with everybody doing her/his own things, who would care???  Not my photograph…

Yesterday morning at ten, because the net café had too many customers, the shop started waking up the customers who’d, crashed there for the night; Ting was lying in a seat toward the back, and because the female employee couldn’t wake him up no matter how she’d tried, and saw him foaming at the mouth, realized, that something wasn’t quite right, immediately notified the paramedics, but as the medics arrived, Ting had stopped breathing and his heart stopped long time ago.  Ting didn’t have his national identification card on him, the police were able to find who he was through his cell phone, they’d contacted his family, and learned, that he has a history of liver sclerosis.  The officers asked around, the other customers sitting around Ting said, they thought he’d fallen asleep, because he was snoring; another customer told, that he saw Ting foaming at the mouth at 9:30 in the morning, but it’d not alarmed him.

The police believed, that Ding had died suddenly in his sleep, because nobody was near him, there wasn’t any physical injuries on him, that was why, nobody noted anything.  And, although Ting had died inside the net café, there were a lot of the customers who had their earphones on, with their mouse in hand, continued playing their games, didn’t show any fears or any concerns for someone who’d died.

So, this, is how cold this world is getting, a man DIED, in a public place, and nobody gives a SHIT!  This is a combination of diffusion of responsibility, AND the bystander effect again, and because there are, so many people who are around him, and nobody WAS paying any attention to anything else that’s going on, outside those screens, that, is why this man died, in a crowded space!
