The driver of a scam ring, in order to not draw attention to himself, he’d put on a mask, and acted like a patient, went to a major hospital’s ATM machine to make cash withdraws; the police discovered this means of scamming, they’d sent officers to the VMH in Kaohsiung to ambush, and so, they’d checked a man, Yo, wearing a mask, with the medicine bag who entered into the hospital in the middle of the nights, not only did the police find, that he had an outstanding arrest warrant, he’d also admitted to delivering $400,000N.T. to the scam rings.
The police investigated, that the driver found, that if they went to the super convenience shops to make the withdraws, they’d easily gotten caught by the police, recently, the drivers started going to the ATM machine in the hospitals instead.
The officers discovered, that the account with Yo the driver withdrew from was the account which a fifty-year-old woman, Chang was told to wire sums into in Taichung; Yo also admitted, that on the 19th and 29th of this month, he’d made withdraws from Veteran’s Memorial Hospital and Chiayi Medical School University, totaling to $400,000N.T., which he’d delivered to the upstream of the scam rings.
Yo claimed, that he joined the scam artist rings, falsifying himself as a patient, made withdraws, and, was carrying the medicine pouches to falsify his status; and the reason he’d chosen to make the withdraws in the deep of the nights because “I wouldn’t be on the police’s radars”, the police arrested him, and, charged him with fraud.
So, there are still, new and unusual ways, that these scam artists are doing their “work”, and, this is still, just a tip of that HUGE iceberg of SCAMS available, out in the world today!
