Her teacher’s way, of helping her build self-confidence, by putting her in charge of getting the students to behave at lunch, and she’s more than grateful, for it, translated…
Since I was young, I’d been, somewhat of a, loner, I’d lacked confidence in myself, but you’d made me the cleanliness agent, had me keep the class in order during the lunch hours.
Back then, I’d worried, that I wasn’t up for the job, as the lunch hour is when everybody gets the rowdiest, everyone is waiting for the lunches to be served, casually carrying on in conversations. I stood on the podium, looking at the rowdy students, I’d started, panicking, and just, looked toward you, at the back of the room for help.
I saw you smiling towards me, with that trust from your gaze, and, oddly enough, my heart settled down, and, I’d, looked once more, at the students sitting in their seats, and, that sense of panic, it went, away.
I’d leaned against the blackboard not talking, until the students asked me, why I didn’t call someone to get the meals, I’d replied, “Not until the whole class quiets down.” Since that day, at lunch, every member of the class was, sitting up right, quietly waiting, for me, to call someone, to bring the lunches to the classroom.
Because of your trust in me, I’d given me courage, and thank you so very much, for giving me the opportunity, to know, how capable, I can be.
Thank you, Mrs. He.
So, this instructor put this woman in charge, to help her build up her self-confidence, and, this young woman had built up her self-confidence, after she’d figured out a way, to get the class to behave, and, if it weren’t for this opportunity given to her by her classroom instructor, she may still be lacking self-confidence to this day…
