The Magic of Love

Stories from the mind, a tale that came out of making a bowl of soup…translated…

Midsummers, it’s said, as the season, most fitting for the colder drinks.

And so a young mother, made this bowl of beet soup, for her son who always worked hard and is constantly sweating.

This, is a very common dish in Eastern Europe, in the countryside.

Dicing up the beets, mixing the pieces with Greek yogurt and low-fat milk, to bring out that thick, pink soup base, then, toss in the contrasting green onions, the dills, with a dash of natural lake salt, and balsamic vinegar, cool it inside the refrigerator, then, voila, a bowl of cooling summer soup, done!

But, that would be, the adult version of the soup.

The designs for the children’s soup, I’d added the hard broiled egg halves that looked like the Japanese cartoon character.

———The fulfilling, nutritious, and childish, all in one, ahhhhhh, the magic of a mother’s love, is boundless!  Turning a four-year-old little boy who’d disliked soup to, always drink until there’s nothing left in his bowl!

Love, is the calling of every single mother in the world.

It’s just, would the magic of love be lost, from time to time too?

I’d recalled, a self-claimed, “unintelligent mother” told, that she’d loved making the mung bean soups and served the soups cold to her own son.

For a long time, she’d kept loving her son, using her “somewhat unintelligent way” to love her son, but as her cocooning son tried to borrow money from her and she wouldn’t lend it to him, he’d, bid her a final farewell, never to be seen by her again!

If love, is the destiny of mothers.

Then, is taking the blows from the love gone wrong, also the destinies of mothers too?

Toward her son who’d, vanished, this “somewhat dumb” mother, only quoted the lines from a monk in the Tang Dynasty, her ways were:

“Putting up with him, allow him to be, to let him live or die on his own, then, see where he ends up, in a couple of years.”

She’d believed, that the distance that was now, between her and her son will become, renewed, by the years, eventually………

Ahhhhhhhh, here, comes my blurry moments, the eyes of the cartoon character in the soup, did they, blink at me?

Perhaps, it’d, read my heart, and, prayed for me———

May all the mothers in the world, never lose their magical touches of love!

So, this is on how much a mother gives to her young, and, the mother in the story gave too much, and she’d finally realized, that she was hurting her own ADULT son, instead of helping him, and then, she’d, CUT him off, and naturally, this little boy STUCK in a GROWN MAN’s BODY hated his “mommy”, and the mother still stayed strong, for she knew, that she was, doing the BEST that she knows, for her own ADULT son!!!
