The Fire at a Residential Place, His Friend Escaped, the Homeowner Died

An accidental fire that claimed a life!  Off the Front Page Sections, translated…

In a large community in Kaohsiung, a fire broke out early yesterday morning, Lu, the homeowner who was sound asleep on the second floor was burned to charcoal on his upper body, found dead, his three friends who slept on the first floor managed to get out to call the fire department; but because the cause of death is unknown, the police isn’t ruling out the causes being manmade, the police department will conduct an autopsy next week to find out the cause of the homeowner’s death, the forensics of the fire department is already looking into how the fire was started.

The Jen-Wu Substation of the city police stated, that Lu (age 66) lived in a two-story, old styled mansion on Sanming Road, the living room was on the first floor, he’d normally gone to sleep in the bedrooms on the second; two days ago, in the late nights, Lu and his friends, Hong, Hsiao, and Lu were drinking through the late nights into the early mornings then gone to the second floor to sleep, Hong and the two other men fell asleep on the first floor.

At 5:30 in the morning yesterday, the second floor caught fire, Hong and others were awakened by the smoke, the three men attempted to put out the fires unsuccessfully, they ran outside, and called the fire department from a nearby super convenience shop.  As the fire department arrived, they’d quickly put out the fires, but they discovered Lu’s body, burned completely, on the second floor, there wasn’t any accelerator agents like gas at the scene.

The police originally suspected Hong and others, but their stories matched, they’d told the police, that two evenings ago, the four of them were drinking at a nearby park, but they were too loud and were, chased off by the local residents, they’d returned to the house at eleven, and continued drinking, until around three in the morn yesterday, they’d fallen asleep on the first and second floors of Lu’s house.  After they’d spotted the fire, they’d all run out of the house and gone to the 24-hour mart to call for help.

So this fire took one life, and because either that the homeowner was choked to black out by the smokes, or that he just slept and got killed in a fire, no one can know, until the autopsy comes out, but based off of all the testimonies given by the three friends, this looked like an accident.
