The mysteries of life, translated…
During the time my mother was seriously ill, my husband and I were both teaching in Hualien, and every Friday night after class, we’d driven up the Suhua Freeways up to Taipei, to visit her.
Once as we’d entered onto the ramp of the Suhua Freeways, the skies dimmed down after we’d passed Chong-Der Tunnel, it became, barely visible, and coincidentally, my husband had cataracts, which further obstructed his views. As we’d passed by a seemingly straight road, but there was actually, a HUGE turn, he’d driven straight.
it’s not at all safe, driving on a pass like this, photo from online…
At this time, there came a white van that had the signals on, and that was when we realized, that it was a cliff up ahead. My husband immediately slowed down, and followed the van in front and safely passed. The, following, the strangest thing happened, after he’d turned left, the road was, straight, and there was, NO sign of that van that signaled him to turn left.
So, where, did that white van go?
We’d looked at one another and smiled, and to this day, we still couldn’t figure out why it’d, appeared, and how it’d, vanished so suddenly. This had, remained a mystery, to this day.
And here’s that section of the freeway, with most of the major accidents talked about in the article, photo from online still…

So, perhaps, the white van was a sign from a higher power, steering you and your husband toward the right directions, so you two wouldn’t CRASH the car, or maybe, it’s something grander (like the grand schemes of the universe) that had, saved your lives on that day, you’ll never know.
