My Mother’s Generator

Needing a little EXTRA help, in getting her mother outside, and she’d found the “cure”, her young great grandson, translated…

My mother told me with a straight face, more than once, “Since I was young, I’d hated exercising, and now I’m elderly, I don’t want to move around at all, stop pushing me to!”, my mother, who’s usually elegant, spoken loudly, proclaimed her position to us, it’d made me realized, that I couldn’t convince her, if she didn’t want to be convinced.

My mother at ninety-three, can still take care of her daily living, she’s just, a bit hard of hearing, plus her body is impacted by the years, plus she’s slightly demented, she was overcome with depressive moods a lot; we’d already, worked our best, taken shifts to stay by her side, and coaxed or coerced her, we still couldn’t get her to get out of her home, to have a breath of fresh air.

This day, my three-year-old young grandson had, invited her to his great grandma to the park, and just like usual, my mother declined, and my grandson started howling loud, and, my mother who’d not known what had just happened, but loved her great grandchild too much, she’d, immediately put her shoes on, and allowed him to lead her out of the house.  In the setting sun, the elderly and the young, ninety years apart, walked out onto that track of life, showed me, the beginning and end of life.

I’m very grateful toward my young grandson, helping my mother restart her energies again.  “The old elderly” needed this sort of a generator, hopefully, one day, the scientists will invent this sort of a robot who can have the same effects that the younger generations have on the older adults.

the children can help liven up the lives of the elderly population…photo from online…

So, what motivated this great grandmother was, her young great grandchild, and the child here, played a VITAL role, in getting the elderly woman reactivate again, because as we grow older, we’d become, inclined to lock ourselves in, and sometimes, we just, need this, reach from a young child’s hands, to get us to set foot back, into the outside world again…
