There’s, this need of an existence of a false self, because, you’re raised to believe (and, guess WHOSE fault is that, huh??? Mommy AND daddy’s!), that something about you isn’t “accepted”, kinda like how at a very early age, I’d learned, to HIDE my negative emotions, because I KNEW how it’d made that DEADBEAT father of mine feel!
And, as the individual grows older, s/he encounter moments in life, that further, proves to her/him, that the existence of a false self is valid, by her/his interactions with the environment s/he lives in, the interactions with one’s own families, as well as other people from the world outside.

The person will keep on, living with this false self, and eventually, fool her/himself, into thinking, wow, this IS me, when it really, isn’t (maybe an incomplete or a fractured version of “me”, but NEVER the “complete” me!), and, s/he will more than likely, to live out the rest of her/his life, with that “cover” on, unless, something life altering strikes the person!
The primary existence of a false self, is to protect oneself from harm in the younger years of life, but, even AFTER there’s no more dangers out in the real world that the individual perceives or encounters, that FALSE self became second-nature, and it won’t be, able to, take that off, not like those masks you put on daily, because that false self had become, WHO you are, and without it, you are, FRACTURED, in pieces………
