All this elderly needed, was a little PUSH, to get him back into the “games” of life, from the Newspapers, translated…
The seventy-nine-year-old elderly Gu lived alone inside an apartment on Guanhua Street in Sinchuan, he had a lumbar injury, which made him dislike going out, the volunteers from the accompanying station in his local community persuaded him to get out of his house, and came to the Development Center of the Heart of Peony Community, and ever since, his moods became, lifted, and he’d found that long-lost energy back again.
In his earlier years he’d worked in the clothes industries as a seamstress and other technical tasks, later on, he’d worked in a life insurance company until he retired at age sixty, his two children grew up and married, and can only visit him in the brief hours before they head off to work in the morn.
And because Gu needed to walk with a cane in his right, and needed the walls for support, he’d become, immobilized, and with his families not close by, it’d caused him to dislike going outside more and more.
and this, was all it took, for him, to find his energies toward life back again, photo courtesy of UDN.com…
Pan, from the local borough offices, aid that Grandpa Gu usually spent his days alone at home, and, it was only a month from when the elderly association had persuaded him to head out, to exercise with other elderly, and to share the meals together with them, and in just a month, he’d improved his overall physical health.
“Come on, Mr.”, Pan called out to Gu outside of his house, and even though, he’d become, immobilized now, but he’d already waited out by his front door, for the bus that took him around his local community to the center, and the caretaker of the elderly’s activities center would find classes fitting to his physical activities for him to participate in, and they’d used the oldies to help him get physically active, as Gu smiled and played the game of “passing the cups around”.
So, because this elderly man became isolated, the quality of his life declined, but, ever since the volunteers got him involved in the physical activities the elderly activities center offered, he’d become, happier, which only goes to prove, that staying ACTIVE, continue socializing with the outside world as one gets older, is a MUST, it’s mentally and physically stimulating to the individual here.
