There were, these steps you never took towards me, ‘cuz, let’s face it, DEAD people can’t walk on the land, can they? Instead, they just, floated along, in the minds of those they loved and cared about, right???
The steps you never took towards me, despite how I’d, called out to you, to be careful, but, you were a young child, too curious, of the outside world around you, and, I’d, allowed you, to drift too far from me, and now, you’d been, taken away, because I’d been bad! But, why are you, the one, punished, for my sins? Shouldn’t I be the one who pay?

The steps you never took towards me, I understand why you never will, it’s because of this common fate of ours, and, you were supposed to have been, the BEST thing that’s ever happened to me, but, you’d become, nothing more, than that never-existing memory…
The steps you never took towards me, I will never see you, stumbling up the stairs with your brothers (they’re still going to be D-O-G-S by the way???) by your side, steadying you, leading you into your bedroom for your nappy. And I will never get to, tuck you in at night, or read you those bedtime stories, written by someone famous (or not!!!), or me………
These were, the steps you never took towards me, because you’d been, taken from me already, and it no longer hurt like it had (from 2008 to 2015 or 2016-ish???), and I’m still okay, so no worries, love!!!
