More on the story of the teenage suicide! From the Front Page Sections, translated…
This young woman who’d committed suicide, a first-year high school student in Taipei’s First All-Girls’ High School, showed no signs of learning difficulties in middle school, as the middle school instructors, and her former classmates heard the news of her suicide, they were all very shocked; the youth counseling center’s head counselor, Tseng once stated, that the reasons for teens to have suicidal thoughts are usually caused by a combination of homework pressures, family situations, and romance, these children normally don’t show their emotions outwardly, the parents must spend extra time with these kids to know what’s really going on in their lives.
This student graduated out of an all-star middle school in the city of Taipei, her middle school counselor told, that as she was attending school there, she was excellent in the scholastics, very intelligent, very good with her interpersonal relationships too, she’d read a lot usually, and the time between classes, she’d gone to share her thoughts with her school counselor, that she’d not received any signals that she’d felt helpless in her own life.
The counselor also told, that this student told the instructor, that she has an outstanding older sister who got into her first-choice, that she doesn’t necessarily need to go to her first choice of school, even if she gets accepted to the high school of National University of Education or Zhongshan All-Girls’ High School, she’s okay with it.
Tseng said, that as teens started experiencing suicidal thoughts, most of the time, they wouldn’t tell the parents, would first disclose their despair to the peers, then, the school teachers learned, and if you find a classmate with signs of suicidal behaviors, everybody must pay close heed, everybody works to prevent suicide, to reduce the deaths caused by suicide.
So, this young lady must’ve masked herself up so well, that nobody KNEW what was going on with her, but, there were still subtle signs that she’d let out, like when she told how she doesn’t necessarily need to get into her first choice of high school, which was probably her parents’ expectation of her, but the parents FAILED to hear the words their daughter wasn’t stating to them, and so, she’d shown them off by killing herself!
