Whatever happened, to carrying that STRICT code of ETHICS on the bar, huh??? From the Front Page Sections, translated…
There was an attorney who’d demanded his client to sleep with him, as a form of payment for his legal counsel, he was warned and punished, there were attorneys who’d helped relay the company’s formal documents, as messages to the employees, there were also the serious criminals of economics with the attorneys’ having their clients commit perjury, helping with the collecting of evidence that benefitted the defendant, recently, there were discussions of how the attorneys didn’t follow a strict code of ethics, the justice reform public council’s C.E.O., Kao pointed out, that there are NO clear-cut rules for the punishments for the attorneys who’d breached these codes of ethics, that there should be an organization that’s responsible for sorting through the cases, to be used as a set of code of ethics for the attorneys.
The C.E.O. of Yong Feng Yu, He, as he was in his holding cell, he was still reviewing over the paperwork of his company, the D.A.s doubted that the group of his attorneys took advantage of visiting him to bring him the paperwork, to pass the words along to the subordinates of his company, to turn the case toward political manipulation, to ask for the investigations by people who might rule in his favor, and it’d struck up the discussions of the boundaries of the profession of the attorneys. The Farglory Group’s C.E.O., Chiao was also taken into custody because he’d received bribes on the urbanization projects, there were the papers that the group needed the C.E.O. to sign, and Chiao’s attorney told the D.A. about the needs, and after the D.A. agreed, they’d let Chiao sort through the papers in front of the District Attorneys, to see which documents fitted into the needed attention category.
The public defender, Shou who fought on behalf of a woman, Cho, because Cho didn’t have any money, he’d agreed that she’d sleep with him as the payment plans, the Kaohsiung D.A.’s Office found Shou having breached the ethical codes of being an attorney, sent him to the reprimand board, but the reprimand board believed, that Shou had had only three instances when he’d used sex as a payoff during his term, and only handed out a reprimand to him, and individuals from outside questioned that whether or not the punishment was too lenient?
The Attorney Union’s secretary, Shih said, Shou’s behaviors were, outrageous, even if the client didn’t pay his fees, she’d not needed to agree to such outrageous pact, especially when the attorney and the client needed to have the relationship built on trust, and, agreeing to have sex had already, gone beyond the professional relationships, this was the case of the attorney, breaking the code of ethics, she believed, that he should be severely reprimanded for it.
So, this is still due to the lack of discipline of these attorney’s, they are serving the law, and yet, at the same time, they’re finding the loopholes to get around the systems with, and this is really bad, because, think about it, if the attorneys become like this, then, their only goal is to get their clients off easy, and, with those dinosaur judges (there are more and more!), justice will NOT be served right, not likely…
