What did you think, getting just that SLAP on your wrists for RAPE???  Think again!  From the Front Page Sections, translated…

The Well-Known Student, Wang from Fujen University Was Accused by an Older Girl from His Same Major for Rape When Attending a Private Gathering to Celebrate Their Graduation, and He Was Expelled by the University for Punishment.  Wang Saw it as Unfitting, Filed for an Appeal, the High Executive Courts Believed that the School’s Procedures of Handling the Matter Was Flawed, and Tossed Back the Ruling Made by the University, and the Matter is Open to Reinvestigation by the Gender-Equality Investigative Team from Fujen University Again, and the Ruling Can Be Appealed.

On the criminal charges, the Hsinbei District Court at the beginning of this year gave Wang three and a half years for opportunistic attempted rape, and this can still be appealed.

The verdict stated, that Wang was accused of raping an older schoolmate from his same major two years ago at the end of September, on November of the same year, the rulings of a lighter sexual molestation charge was assigned to the case, and, the board suggested the punishment coincide with the rules of “the Punishment of Rules Broken by the Students”, and Wang was placed on probation, that if the D.A. indicted him with charges more serious than sexual molestation, the school will expel him.

Last year on January 15th, the Hsinbei District Attorney’s Office indicted Wang on opportunistic rape charges, and the university held its student behavior rulings in March, and agreed on expelling Wang.  But Wang made an appeal, and after the gender equality committee discussed the specifics of the case, they’d believed, that the evidences that were presented were enough, to turn over the original rulings on the matter.

The incident happened, because the boyfriend of the victim accused the former dean of the liberal arts college for not starting up the investigation of the matter, and got the online community into discussion; the victim later openly apologized to the dean, Hsia and the psychology department at Fujen University, which caused another outburst, and the better known hacker community, “The Anonymous” started attacking the official website of Fujen University and later, the university suspended the dean, Hsia.

So, because a woman was raped, and nobody did anything about it, that, is why this got this far, had the university taken this case more seriously, then, the woman wouldn’t have gone to the court systems to get justice for herself, and the behaviors of the university is NOT taking these sexual assaults seriously enough, and that is a HUGE problem!
