An elderly couple, the Yus in Taichung was found by their loved ones, lying inside their locked up bedroom, Yu died on the way to the hospital, while his wife is still being resuscitated; and because Yu’s wife had been taken over by conditions of diabetes, hypertension, the police found pesticides inside the bedrooms, with the mugs with the traces of pesticides in them, and Yu died of poisoning, the police ruled that this couple who’d shared the depth in connections had made a pact, to commit suicide by drinking the pesticides.
The police investigated, that Yu (age 78), and his wife (age 71) lived with their son and grandchildren, their son returned home from his exercises at eight in the morning, found the parents’ bedroom door locked from the inside, and nobody answered after he’d knocked, he’d felt, that something wasn’t quite right, and immediately, pulled up the windows to their bedroom to check.
The son found his parents lying on the bedroom floors, with vomit close by, he’d, immediately called the fire department; the paramedics rushed to the scene, took the elderly couple to the hospitals, Yu died, while his wife is in the I.C.U., getting resuscitated, was in critical condition. The police examined, and ruled that Yu died of consuming pesticides, that there was NO sign of foul play.
The friends and relatives told, that the couple were very close, they’d always gone everywhere together, and exercised together too; Yu’s wife has hypertension, diabetes, and kidney disease, in recent two months, she’d gone into the hospital, and complained of insomnia, Yu has hypertension. The family told, that the couple never told them that they wanted to die, nor shown signs of suicide; the neighbors said, that everybody felt sad, as the death happened so suddenly.
The coroner’s examinations found, that there was half a bottle of pesticides hanging on the walls of the bedroom, with two empty mugs on the tables, and, the scent of pesticide from the mugs; but, the family didn’t work in the agricultural field, normally, they’re not in contact with the pesticides, the police aren’t ruling out this as a getting sick for too long, with the elderly couple making a pact to suicide, but, the precise cause of death is still, pending investigations.
So, as we age, our bodies started, malfunctioning, and, this elderly couple had, finally had it, with being overcome with the progressive conditions that they had, so, they’d, decided, to take their own lives, and it’s still, tragic for the family, and this still showed, how feeling isolated at old age can contribute to how these elderly committed suicide, ending their own lives.
