This will happen, again, and again, with the summer being here and all! From the Front Page Sections, translated…
On the very first day of summer vacation, the middle school students of Fengling Middle School from Kaohsiung went to the beaches to swim and there was a drowning accident. The female student, Yang, who was an avid competitor of karate was taken away by the waves, it took the search team in the skies, and on the land, over three hours, and at around seven in the evening, they’d found Yang at about three-hundred meters away from where she’d fallen in, she was already, dead, and after they’d rushed her to the hospitals, she’d still died; the male student, Lin was able to survive, having climbed up the rocks.
At around two in the afternoon yesterday, the four middle school students met together, to swim at the Feng-Bitou Port. But because the wind was strong, the wave was huge, after the four of them leapt into the oceans, the male student, Lin found, that “the waves were so high it got to my neck”, he’d quickly, climbed his way back up onto the rocks, and called out, “Help us!”
As the people close by heard, they’d immediately called the emergency response, the two students who were, swimming close to shore quickly got out. The police, the coastguards came, the students told them, that another female classmate didn’t get back up. The Lingyuan Fire Department Substation sent out a raft, to rescue Lin, the male student who was stuck on the rocks; the mother of Yang (age 14) kept hollering her daughter’s name aloud on the coast, “Come back now!”, her voice was so full of despair, it’d, made the onlookers cry too. At seven in the evening, they’d found Yang, three hundred meters from the place where she’d first fallen in, lifeless.
The man in charge of the local borough told, that Yang’s father recently died of illness, Yang was the youngest of her family, she has two older sisters. The principal of Fengling Middle School, Huang told, that Yang was a team member of the karate squad at school, she’d entered into competition, and did very well just this last season.
So, this still shows, how nobody should be, swimming in places, where there are, NO lifeguards, like that previous case where the teens went swimming in the streams somewhere, and drowned, remember? And, this still won’t BE another isolated incidence, as the summer is here, and the weather’s, getting hotter, and hotter, and hotter, and, we all want to find ways to cool ourselves down, and, going to swim at the beaches, is one viable option, but, at the same time, watch out for water safety too.
