As the summer gets hotter and hotter, there would only be more and more these incidents of drowning accidents, from the Front Page Sections, translated…
The cousins, Chen because of a power outage in the construction site they’d worked, had time off, they’d gone to the King-Yueh Waterfalls with friends to swim, they were suspected of not being acquainted with the geography, and were taken by the whirlpools, sank into between the rocks; because the sounds from the waterfall was too loud, nobody heard their calls for help, and as they were found, and pulled up, they were already, dead, for hours.
reasons WHY you should NEVER go swimming at anyplace without a certified LIFEGUARD!!! Photo from online…
The thirty-eight-year-old Chen in Sanxing County, and the thirty-three-year-old Chen in Suao were cousins, they both worked as construction workers in rebuilding the highway between Suao and Hualien, but because there was a power outage yesterday causing the construction site to shut down, they’d called another older cousin, and a coworker, and decided to go swimming in the King-Yueh Falls. The two cousins first climbed onto the rocks, then, leapt into the water, and entered into the depth by miscalculations, and not long after they went into the water, they’d both, sunk into between the rocks.
Back then, there were a lot of tourists swimming, but because of how fast the water was flowing, and the loudness from the waterfall nearby, nobody heard any calls for help, until about 1:20 in the afternoon, the other tourists found something unknown there in the water, they’d called others to pull them out, and pulled the thirty-eight year-old Chen who’d lost consciousness up and performed CPR on him.
The tourists close by called the fire department, as the paramedic rushed to the scene, they’d found, that there was another man, stuck between the rocks, after they’d pulled him up, they’d found him to be the thirty-three year-old younger cousins for the first man who was pulled up.
So, this could’ve easily prevented, but it wasn’t, because these men chose to swim in a place where there are no lifeguards on duty, and incidents such as this will only happen more often, as the summers get hotter and hotter, and there are a LOT of place that you can go to swim in without lifeguards in Taiwan.
