Life, the Obstacle Course

The Blue in My Dream

Memories, translated…

That damp, saltiness of the air, had often, come attack me in my dreams, the sounds from the waves had, echoed inside my dreams a lot too; although it’s a, childhood memory, it’d still, replayed itself over and over again in my dreams. That blue in my dreams, I’d extended, with the pitch black of night, turning her, into, that gentle sea. That image was from my father taking me to see the oceans. After the gentle sea was, dyed with the heat from the sun, blended, into, that unique and gentle sort of blue, so beautiful, so breathtaking………I’d become a father now, and I can’t, help, but recall my own childhood.

what it’d looked like from before…NOT my photograph…

“Daddy, what are you smiling about?”, my son woke me up.

“It’s the weekend today, can we go out to play?”, before I had the chance to answer that question, my son threw out another.

“Yep, let’s go see the oceans.”

I drove in the direction of the port, the sea slowly, showed its whole self to me, that gentle ocean became, the home to trash. The color of the ocean became like the backside of my father, no longer, in existence now, and I regret, not being able to, share the blueness I saw in my dreams anymore. But, as his father, I couldn’t, teach him, to give up, so, I’d, decided, to join in, with the troops to clean up the beaches.

My son and I spent half a day, working hard, for the sake of the oceans, picked up, bag after bag of garbage. And, right before sunset, we’d, finished this, volunteer activity. I hoped, that my son learned from this experience, to respect nature. Although people say, that the ocean is a colder sort of blue, but I hope, that this warmth of blue can get passed from my father, to my own son.

My son is sweating like crazy, he’d turned toward me, stated, “Dad, the ocean, IS beautiful”.

“Yes, it surely is.” That blue in my dream had found its way back to reality, from my dreams.

and this, is what it looks like now…NOT my photo still…

So, by sharing this volunteer experience, the father passed the values of respecting nature to the son, and, they were able to, find that lost blue in the seas that the father remembered from when he was a child himself.
