Reading Stories to a Dog, the Child with Autism Became More Social

We need more programs like this one here, as this would benefit children in their learning processes, as well as giving these animals a sense of purpose in their lives too, from the Newspapers, translated…

The young children telling stories to furry kids, in order to help increase the interest of learning disabled students in reading, the Pingdong University’s Special Education majors last year started training “learning assistance dogs”, for the children to tell stories from illustrated books to the animals, to help them gain better verbal communication skills as well as for them to read on their own. There was a child with autism, who couldn’t speak a single word, to now, being able to speak in complete sentences, slowly, opened herself up.

The Pingdong University in recent years, offered the children with special needs free communications training, and they’d placed dogs into the program, to help, setting up the very first “learning-assistance dogs” training courses. Starting this month, they’re working hand-in-hand with the Cultural department of Pingdong, to push forth the “Doggies who listen to you read” program, hoping, that through having these assistance dogs, the public can become better educated on special needs students.

And this, would be a great program, because dogs don’t judge you, based off of your abilities, as animals have nothing BUT unconditional love, unconditional positive regard (remember, Mr. Rogers, C.???) to give to you, this, is probably why, these children with special needs felt easier connecting, opening up with animals, than they would with other people.
