“Hello, I’m a full-time mom,” the thirty-six-year-old mom, Shen handed out her business card, and, as people see that her “title” was “Full-Time Mother”, they were all, very surprised. She’d told, that being a full-time mother is an occupation she’s proud of working in, she’s enjoying every day of her life, working, as a full-time mom.
Shen said, she was originally a member of the working class, when her daughter was two-and-a-half, she’d quitted her job and become a stay-at-home mom, because she didn’t want her children to get sent off to the afterschool programs where they just copied out of the texts.
As her son was born, her life revolved around her children, she’d become active in participating in her children’s school functions, and found that in the traditional education realms, there is, room for improvements. When she’d heard, that the Badu Elementary School was being sponsored by the government as an experimental elementary school, last year, she’d enrolled her daughter; and she’d started in a parent group with other adults who shared her beliefs, and took the children to clean up the playground of Baifu Park, and planned to draw her kids as mural there too.
As a lot of people saw that on her business card it had the title of “Full-Time Mother”, they couldn’t help, but look at her again, and inquire her about her job. She told, that this, was what she’d wanted, to tell everybody, that being a full-time mother is something she’s very proud of; she’d not regretted leaving the workforce, this was, more enjoyable than receiving her paychecks from work.
So, this mother had, found her “calling”, so to speak, she’d shifted from a full-time worker to a full-time mother, and because she kept in her mind, that it’s very important, for her, to accompany her young as they grow older, that, was why she’d not regretted leaving the workforce, and she’d found joys, in experiencing life alongside her own children too, watching them grow older each and every day.
